10th August 2016. Spotlight Brighton. Brighton is an English seaside resort town. About an hour south of London by train, it's a popular day-trip destination. Its broad shingle beach is backed by amusement arcades and Regency-era buildings. Brighton Pier, in the central waterfront section, opened in 1899 and now has rides and food kiosks. The town is also known for its nightlife, arts scene, shopping and festivals. Picture shows (L-R) Amanda 'Mav' Roberts, Cafe Manager & Molly Mary Simmons, Fairy Front of House at Choccywoccydoodah, an arteisan chocolate, cake shop & bar/cafe on Meeting House Lane (the lanes). The shop has been a fixture of Brighton for 13 years & has it's own TV show on the Good Food Network. The company was born in Brighton & still has heavy ties there with all products handmade within a mile of the shop at their facility in nearby Eastbourne. Bespoke commissions are a big part of their business, as well as the hugely successful cafe/bar above the shop, which often sees cues down the lanes to get into (you cannot book a table). There are a minimum of 11x cakes on offer at any time, as well as 350x different ways you can have your cake. Should you feel brave enough, you can order the house specialty 'cake mountain'- a sharing platter of all 11x cakes with all the trimmings. ? Daniel Lynch / Evening Standard / eyevine
