London-based auctioneer Kerry Taylor Auctions featured several royal lots in their latest 'Passion for Fashion' sale held on June 17. Among the highlights were three outfits belonging to Princess Di from the 1980s. A Jasper Conran brushed red wool suit from 1984 sold for ?L62,500 GBP. A pair of Smith & Co Liberty printed silk dresses worn by Princess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret from 1935 sold for ?L32,500 GBP. And two medieval-inspired outfits worn by Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York for TV show The Grand Knockout Tournament - also known as It's a Royal Knockout - in 1987 sold for ?L1,750 GBP. They had only been expected to sell for between ?L200 and ?L300 GBP, the auction house said. A spokesperson for Kerry Taylor Auctions said: "Princess Diana?s garments will always be desirable and increasingly so with the passage of years since her untimely death."
