A Christian hospital, which was battered by a 100mph storm, was left praising the lord after discovering the sign of the cross imprinted on a piece of debris. The Avera Heart Hospital, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, was hammered by 100pmh winds during a savage storm on Tuesday September 10. A ferocious tornado ripped through the infirmary - smashing windows, tearing up trees, crippling rooves and knocking out power. But amazingly no one was severely hurt and staff even found this piece of wood, which appears to show the symbol of the cross. Incredibly, the hospital was also able to carry on treating patients in the "midst of the chaos" and even saved one person's life who was suffering from sever cardiac complications. In a statement, the hospital said: "Faith. Focus. Family. Our windows may be broken, our building damaged, but even during the roar of the storm, God shows up. This chunk of tree was thrown by the tornado through a lobby window. A visible reminder that He is always with us." Marilyn Paddock with the Avera Heart Hospital said that finding the cross in the wood was "A reminder that in the midst of chaos, God is always with us." While Mary Hill, the Executive Vice President of Mission, added: "In the face of the many challenges faced throughout Avera's history to the present day?from harsh prairie conditions, epidemics, economic hardship, war, and severe weather?God has been with Avera, inspiring and enabling it to be Christ's healing compassion in the world. Thus, as Avera continues to encounter the inevitable challenges attendant to health care ministry, we rest in the assurance that God is with us always, guiding and empowering us to bring hope and healing to our world.". 12 Sep 2019 Pictured: Storm damage at Avera Heart Hospital.
