This is the moment a massive cruise ship passes through a narrow canal in Greece. Images show the 22.52-metre-wide MS Braemar ship squeezing along the Corinth Canal, which is 24 meters wide at its narrowest point. It is the largest ship ever to pass through the stretch of canal. Passengers on the ship, owned by cruise company Fred.Olsen, were even able to reach out and touch the sides as they passed by. Carrying more than 1,200 passengers and crew, the 196 metre long, 24,344-tonne cruise ship was assisted by a tugboat to avoid any bumps along the way as it made the voyage earlier this month. The four mile long Corinth Canal separates mainland Greece from the Peloponnesian Peninsula and connects the Corinthian and Saronic Gulfs. Clare Ward of Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines said: ?This is such an exciting sailing and tremendous milestone in Fred Olsen?s 171-year history and we are thrilled to have been able to share it with our guests.?
