Pregnant Princess Eugenie visits the big cat sanctuary where she is a patron. The Royal visited The Big Cat Sanctuary in Smarden, Kent as the centre celebrated its 20th Anniversary with the opening of the new Jaguar Breeding Centre. Eugenie, 30, said: "I am so proud to be Patron of such an incredible organisation. With conservation at the forefront of our minds it's important to continue such valuable work." She officially opened the Jaguar Breeding Centre last month (September 2020). A spokesperson said: "It was an absolute honour to welcome the Princess and we are so glad she enjoyed her time hand feeding our gorgeous jaguars as well." The purpose-built habitat will play home to the sanctuary's jaguar couple, Neron and Keira. It has specially designed separation pens so in the event of a birth, Keira can be settled away to give birth in peace and allow the newborn some space to grow into a healthy cub. Both Neron and Keira are part of the European Breeding Programme for Endangered Species, which means they would be involved in safe and sustainable breeding of their species. Eugenie and husband Jack Brooksbank are expecting their first child early in 2021.
