RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL ????" APRIL 07: A view of a Covid-19 intensive care unit at a hospital in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on April 7, 2021. Brazil confirms 3,829 deaths and 92,625 cases of Covid-19 in 24 hours. At least 13,193,205 Brazilians were diagnosed with Covid-19 and 340,776 died of the pandemic as curfews, lockdowns, creation of more beds and announcement of mega-holidays failed to stop the high demand for ICUs for Covid-19 patients in the country. In Rio de Janeiro, the ICU occupation suffered a slight variation in the last week: it went from 95 percent to 93 percent in the capital and from 92 percent to 90 percent in the state, with the opening of dozens of beds. The line, however, remained long this Monday, with 682 seriously ill Rio de Janeiro patients waiting for vacancies. Fabio Teixeira / Anadolu Agency/ABACAPRESS.COM
