Lava flow as it reaches the sea, on 22 November 2021, in La Palma, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain. The energy of the Cumbre Vieja volcano has created a new lava delta after coming into contact with the sea in the area known as El Perdido, about three kilometres south of Puerto de Tazacorte. This has caused the confinement of more than 3,000 people in the municipality of Tazacorte due to the air quality. Already 1,073 hectares have been destroyed since the volcano began to roar on September 19. Photo by Pau de la Calle/Europa Press/ABACAPRESS.COM
