Anatoly Mikolaiovitch Hritsan, a retired truck driver, stands for a portrait in his room in Hospital 8 in the Obolon district of Kyiv. He was injured while sleeping in his home. His home was destroyed when a Russian rocket which detonated in the courtyard of his housing complex. His mother was also injured and taken to another local hospital. Despite not knowing his mother's condition and have no concrete plan of where to go after he leaves the hospital, he is defiant, repeating the popular phrase "Russian warship go fuck yourself". The hospital has transformed from a general hospital into a trauma center. Patients have been relocated to make room for the potential of heavy casualties. Once the war wounded are stabilized they are either moved to hospitals in the city center or released. Kyiv, Ukraine Friday, March 18, 2022.
