Photo: Piotr Molecki/East News Official visit and press conference of Polish prime minister Mateusz Morawiecki marking the completion of the first stage of the construction of the permanent border fence on June 30, 2022 near the village of Kuznica on Polish-Belarusian border. In the last 5 month the reinforced permanent border barrier was built along 185 kilometres of the land border with Belarus. On July 1, 2022 the territory along the border will no longer be a "no-go zone". Only 200 metres wide stretch of land along the border is going to be excluded from free access due to the second stage of barriers' construction. Polish authorities are now planning to install a so-called "electronic barrier" consisting of multiple surveillance systems - mainly cameras and sensors. Pictured: officer of Polish Border Guard is seen next to the new border fence.
