Attendees at the extraordinary plenary session of the Real Academia Galega (RAG) on the occasion of the Día de las Letras Galegas, at the Teatro Rosalía de Castro, on May 17, 2024, in A Coruña, Galicia (Spain). Since 1963, every May 17, Galicia has celebrated a day dedicated to its language, literature and cultural heritage. It is the Día das Letras Galegas, and every year it is dedicated to honoring the work and life of a different author from the Galician community, usually posthumously. The 2024 edition is dedicated to the writer Luisa Villalta, who died prematurely in 2004, at the age of 46, due to meningitis. Thus, this year is the twentieth anniversary of her death, and the RAG has decided to commemorate her work by dedicating the Día das Letras to her. 17 MAY 2024 M.
