Victorian organ pipes, removed from York Minster's Grand Organ, await repair and restoration at the Harrison and Harrison Organ Builder workshop in Durham, northern England on March 20, 2019. - A once-a-century project to refurbish York Minster's Grand Organ has required the removal and restoration of nearly all of the instrument's 5403 pipes at a cost of two million pounds. This includes 102 decorative case pipes which date from the 1830s and have been silent since the last major refurbishment of the organ in 1903. The refurbished organ is due to be returned to the Minster in spring 2020, with voicing and tuning work carried out over the summer months ready for the instrument to be back in use in autumn 2020.
