10 May 2019, Hamburg: Visitors to the harbour's birthday party can see the ships anchored at the jetties, including the Alexander von Humboldt II. The 830th Hamburg Harbour Birthday has begun. The people of Hamburg regard 7 May 1189 as the birthday of their port - at that time the citizens of Hamburg were granted duty-free access for their ships on the Elbe from the city to the North Sea. It is considered the world's largest harbour festival. Photo: Axel Heimken/dpa
