Gas prices plunge as low as $0.879 per gallon in New Orleans, Louisiana, amid the coronavirus pandemic. These prices have reportedly not been seen since the 1980s. Pictures show two gas stations in the New Orleans Treme area, selling gas at $0.879 per gallon and $0.889 per gallon respectively. The national average fell below $2 on Tuesday for the first time in four years, according to AAA. The national average of $1.997 was about 11 cents cheaper than a week ago and about 69 cents cheaper than a year ago.
