The first umbrellas were mounted that will cover the spaces in front of the premises, enlarged to facilitate the safe arrangement of the tables according to the safety rules on coronavirus, at San Marco square in Venice, Italy, on June 27, 2020. The first covers were set up in front of the Caffc Florian. Then the workers' teams moved on to Quadri, Lavena and will conclude at the Aurora and Chioggia cafes, in front of Palazzo Ducale. The artifacts are all the same, with a square plan and the same ivory white color as the "lunettes" that cover the arches of the Procuratie. The design, agreed with the Traders Association of Piazza San Marco, is inspired by the canvases depicted in the paintings by Canaletto dedicated to the Marcian area. The umbrellas will remain until October 31, a grant from the Superintendency, which in the past had refused similar proposals, to facilitate the cafes that are trying to recover from closure.
