The city is demanding about 49,000 euros in damages from the convicted election forger, former CDU city councilor Holger Gebhardt. This is compensation for the costs incurred by the re-run of the municipal elections due to the falsification of postal voting documents. Massive forgeries had occurred in the 2014 local elections. Gebhardt had therefore been sentenced to two and a half years in prison in 2017.
