12 August 2020, Saxony, Dresden: Anna-Maria Schuch-Baensch, restorer of the company Fuchs und Girke, is working on the new gilding during the restoration of the Golden Rider. The larger-than-life equestrian statue of the Saxon Elector August the Strong (1670-1733), the Golden Horseman, from the 18th century will receive a 30,000 euro beauty treatment by the end of September. This will repair damage left behind by birds, wind, dust, rainwater and the temperatures and the attack with a caustic liquid in 2017. Photo: Robert Michael/dpa-Zentralbild/dpa
