This incredible super yacht looks like a swan. The ?L383 million GBP [$500 million USD] Avanguardia yacht is the brainchild of Italian design firm, Lazzarini. The yacht - still at the design stage and not yet built - takes its name from the positioning of the control tower, which appears like the head of a swan, the company said. It sits atop the main body of the 430ft vessel to manoeuvre the mega yacht. And when the yacht is at a stop it can swivel forward, detach and then be used as an auxiliary boat, extending the length of the yacht to approximately 515 feet. The designers said it was ?unconsciously inspired by a 1970s Japanese manga?. The rear deck part incorporates a personal port for two detachable electric Jet Capsules, which draw a charge from the main vessel. Avanguardia means ?vanguard? in English. It has room for up to 60 guests, 12 staff, and a crew of 10, as well as two docks for helicopters and two hangars spread across five decks. Earlier this year Lazzarini revealed plans for a solar-powered ?L30 million GBP megayacht called Xenos, which comes with a ?L2.3 million GBP Bugatti Chiron hypercar and a ramp to drive the vehicle on board. The Avanguardia would be powered by twin fully electric side engines but if more speed was required, a central MTU Rolls-Royce Jet engine would allow the yacht to potentially reach cruising speed of about 18 knots. A spokesperson said: ?Obviously Avanguardia is a just a stylistic exercise that could become reality with a client able to invest $500.000.000 for the construction.? The Avanguardia would be powered by twin fully electric side engines but if more speed was required, a central MTU Rolls-Royce Jet engine would allow the yacht to potentially reach cruising speed of about 18 knots. A spokesperson said: ?Obviously Avanguardia is a just a stylistic exercise that could become reality with a client able to invest $500.000.000 for the construction.?
