Heavy snowfall, on an unprecedented scale for more than fifty years in Madrid, fell over a large part of Spain, due to the passage of storm Filomena on Friday, January 8 and ended on Sunday the 10th oj January. The storm has caused cancelled services and transport disruption but also offered the unusual and unique opportunity to skiing and walking on the snow all over the main streets of Madrid, such are La Castellana, Serrano street, Alcala street and Gran Via, and the main square Puerta del Sol. On pictures large number of people walking amd skiing on Madrid streets despite some trees in the capital have not supported the weight of the snow and have ended up falling, even on the street's parked cars.
