Twin brothers obsessed with growing giant vegetables today smashed the British record as they unveiled a pumpkin weighing a staggering 174 stone (1,104kg) - the same as a Ford Fiesta. Stuart and Ian Paton, 57, used over 100 gallons of water a day to help their enormous squash flourish, increasing the weight by an incredible 60lbs in 24 hours at its peak. They already held the UK record with an impressive 162 stone (2,269lbs) pumpkin from last year, but beat that today with their biggest effort yet, which weighed in at 2,433lbs 14ozs. Their record breaker even has a circumference of over 20ft, bigger than any previously grown, and the stem is thicker than a heavyweight boxer's forearm. SEE OUR COPY FOR MORE DETAILS. ?
